I contemplated writing this post, ‘cause you know, by writing it I’d be jinxing myself! But I figure I’d rather share these emotions with you now, regardless of the outcome, in hopes you can share in the joy and excitement or pass me a tissue and rub my back as I wallow, if it doesn’t go the way I hope!
You must know who Bethenny Frankel is by now; former Real Housewife of NYC, and now the star of her own hit reality show on Bravo TV “Bethenny Getting Married?”. And if you don’t know who she is, then allow me to push aside that rock you’re hiding under 
On a personal note, I love the girl! I’ve always respected someone who speaks their mind, tells you how they feel about you (to your face) and stands behind what they say and do. I enjoyed watching her on the RHONYC and I was even more excited to watch her in “Bethenny Getting Married?”.
Skip to the part where I find out she’s expecting!!!! Bethenny KNOWS fashion; she has great taste in clothes (and men obviously, have you met Jason?) I knew I wanted to send her a Hot Mama Gown so she could delivery in style and comfort. I chose the “Antoinette” since I think it screams classic and chic. I used a fellow Mom to coordinate the gifting, Katie O’Neill of KT Giftings.
Bethenny wasn’t the first celebrity I’ve gifted, so I’ve learned not to expect anything; just do it because I want to do it and whatever happens, happens. So I was beyond thrilled to receive a hand-written note from Bethenny thanking me for her Hot Mama Gown!! And truly, that for me was enough. Did I want her to wear her gown and enjoy being a Hot Mama; OF COURSE! But again, I wasn’t expecting anything further.
Cut to May 17th when Bethenny answered my Tweet…YES, BETHENNY FRANKEL answered my tweet!! She was responding to my tweet about wearing her gown and she said she DID wear it in the hospital. My heart was racing…how wonderful that she actually wore her Hot Mama Gown, and even MORE exciting that she might have even been filmed wearing her Hot Mama Gown!
Now back to reality…today is Monday and I’ve had such mixed emotions since watching BGM on Thursday…you see they showed a preview of the upcoming episode (to be aired this Thursday, July 22nd) and in the preview she IS wearing a hospital maternity gown, but it’s not a Hot Mama Gown. The gown she is wearing is the cheapest one (retail value) on the market, yes, I know all my “competition”. So even though I was bummed that it wasn’t a Hot Mama Gown, I was still excited. Here is my (positive) way of thinking; she labored and delivered in the cheap gown since she knew it was going to get birth goo all over it with intentions of changing into her Hot Mama Gown after her shower and before the film crew showed up to shoot (the preview that was shown was shot on Bethenny and Jason’s video camera, not by Bravo film crew).
So, the WONDERFUL news is I know she wore it and got to enjoy it, and that makes me feel AMAZING! But did it get filmed? You may be saying big deal if she was filmed wearing it, at least she sent you a hand-written thank you AND a tweet acknowledging she actually wore it. And I TOTALLY, whole-heartedly agree…but, as a small business still in its infancy; Bethenny being filmed wearing her Hot Mama Gown could really help this business grow and evolve…and THAT…makes me giddy!
So will you be my team? Will you hold my virtual hand while we wait and see what happens? Will you toast and cheer with me if she wears her gown and it’s filmed, and will you also pass me the tissues if we don’t see it?
