As you may have noticed from a testimonial or two, or even checking out our FAQ page, we design custom gowns too! And let me tell you, they are a lot of fun; whether the Hot Mama is in love with a special fabric she saw at the fabric store, needs modifications because she is of short stature, or even if she needs some drastic modifications to adhere to religious requirements…we do it all!!
Here is our most recent custom set of gowns that headed out to the lucky Mama today!! This Mama had several requests, the first of which was the hardest…but I think you’ll agree the outcome is simply perfection!
Even though the V-neck on our gowns are very discreet and not low cut when on your body, this Mama requested we close off the V-neck, but still wanted the function of the breastfeeding panels…hummm…So here is our solution!! We sewed in a piece of fabric that closed off the V-neck but is attached by soft Velcro on either side, so she is still able to use the breastfeeding panels, AND stay covered and feel secure. Pretty swift, huh?
The next modification involved the sleeves; this Mama had specific requests that her elbows be covered, so once she had her sample gown (every custom order Mama is sent a sample gown to check for exact size and measurements!) she gave me the measurements of how long she’d like the typical short sleeve extended. The sleeves on this gown make it look so chic; I’m absolutely in love with this feature!!
And lastly, we added some length to the gowns as well. Our Hot Mama Gowns fall about mid-calf on a woman who is 5 feet 6 inches, so length is typically not a problem. But again, for this conservative Hot Mama, we added about 4 inches to the length.
This is just one of the many special things we do at Hot Mama Gowns; we want you to know and love us for our quality (and AWESOMENESS) but also know we’re not your generic big box company with a one-size-fits-all mentality…no sir!!
